The Palo Alto Airport Association GATS Jar Project

FOR YOU, YOUR PLANE AND THE BAY

The Palo Alto Airport Association is pleased to supply this new GATS fuel-sampling Jar for your aircraft, so that pilots may safely test fuel and put it back in the aircraftÕs tank, without fear of contamination. Used in accordance with the included instructions, these jars filter out both water and particulate contaminants, allowing you to use the test fuel, rather than waste it. We were all taught as students that the fuel, once sumped, was to be discarded as potentially contaminated. This practice is now unnecessary, so you wonÕt have to waste valuable avgas. The critical reason for using the jar is to prevent petroleum distillates and lead in the discarded fuel from polluting the air, soil and ground water. As a side benefit, this avoids fuel damage to the asphalt. By using the GATS jar you can be a good steward of the environment, without compromising safety.

We have jars available, so please accept it as a gift; and consider joining us if youÕre not already a member. The Association has been around nearly twenty years, advocating on behalf of our aviation community with the City, County and FAA. Association dues are only $15 per year and that includes a Newsletter put out about 6 times per year with information about the airport and its relationship with the local community. Your membership helps give the association a stronger voice!

Thank you,
